As the origin of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, Guangdong attaches great importance to the cooperation with Latin American countries. The trade volume between Guangdong and Latin America accounts for 20% of the total trade volume between China and Latin America, and the cooperation between Guangdong and Latin America enjoys a solid foundation. In 2021, the Guangdong Government will hold a series of exchanges between Guangdong and Latin America in 2021 to carry out exchanges in economy, trade, culture, science and technology, agriculture, and other aspects through the combination of both online and offline. This conference is the first of a series of exchanges between Guangdong and Latin American countries in 2021, aiming to build a platform for further deepening exchanges and cooperation between Guangdong and Latin American and Caribbean countries, and promote the continuous concrete cooperation between Guangdong and Latin American and Caribbean countries in the new era.

Mr. Fu Yongge, Head of Economic Development Bureau, Executive Committee of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone, introduced the relevant development of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. As one of China’s four special economic zones and a node city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Zhuhai ushered in the opportunity for a second take-off, with the construction of the Hengqin-Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation zone. And Zhuhai will rely on Macao to connect with Portuguese-speaking countries to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries.

As one of the earliest teams in China aquaculture industry to go broad, Nutriera has built up a solid foundation for exchanges and cooperation with governments, non-governmental organizations and enterprises in many Latin American countries, such as Ecuador, Brazil, Mexico and Columbia. Nutriera experts have been invited to give lectures to fishery officials and aquaculture practitioners in four continents for several times, and delegations from Latin American countries have visited Nutriera Industrial Park in Zhuhai for many times. In addition, Nutriera has been invited to join Agricultural Education Technology Innovation Alliance of China-Latin America led by South China Agricultural University. The face-to-face exchanges with officials of the Latin American embassies in China and the consulates in Guangzhou will encourage Nutriera to continue its efforts and contribute to the promotion of exchanges and common development between China, Latin America and the Caribbean.
